About Garland

Garland TX is an inner suburb northeast of Dallas and is a major part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 222,013, making it the tenth-most populous city in Texas and the ninety-second most populous city in the United States.

Garland is a part of the Dallas and Collin County region of Texas .The region is known for its self sufficient infrastructure. Major attractions include Patty Granville Arts Center, Pace House and the Plaza Theater. Each year in the spring season there are colorful events which includes a music festival. Among the biggest companies in Garland are Kraft Foods, Garland Power and Light which is a not-for-profit public utility service, and the U.S. Hdqtrs. of Internacional de Ceramica, S.A. de C.V., the largest manufacturer of glazed ceramic floor tiles in North America. The region also houses many transportation companies. The biggest schools here are North Garland High School and Lakeview Centennial High School. One of the best places to visit when you are in Garland is Spring Creek Forest Preserve. Famous persons from Garland include Mike Judge, LeAnn Rimes, Gene Summers and Mitchel Musso.
