Gregory is a city in San Patricio County, Texas. It was named after U.S. attorney general Thomas Watt Gregory. The population is just under 2400. There are 2 elementary schools in Gregory. Secondary education is received in Portland. The post office was established in 1887. The first settler, J.S.M. McKamey, bought a 2 mile square of land in 1890. By 1892, the population had reached 250. Enjoy a nice meal at Macs Barbecue after taking in some shopping at the Green Diamond. A famous person from Gregory is Don Williams, a country music legend.
