About Kemah
Kemah, which means "wind in my face," is a tourist destination on Galveston Bay, only 25 minutes south of Houston. Major employers include American International Industries, Inc. and Palms Consultant. Students attend Clear Creek ISD. The Kemah Boardwalk attracts visitors from Houston and Galveston. Daring riders tackle the Pharaoh's Fury and Boardwalk Beast. A more low-key option is the dancing fountain. The nearby Lighthouse Shopping District features dozens of dining options and many shops. Every summer, Rock the Dock amps up the bay shoreline with concerts. A notorious past resident was pirate Jean Lafitte, who may have buried treasure somewhere in Kemah, another fun reason to visit.
