Lowake is a community in Concho County, Texas. Lowake was known in the 1960's as the site of a famous steakhouse that had an air strip for fly in customers. The area was named after two farmers, Schlake and Lowe, who donated land for the townsite. Lowake children attend Paint Rock Independent School District for kindergarten through twelfth grade. Major attractions are the Eden City Museum and Lee Pfluger Park. Local businesses include Lowake Steak House and Box Michael Construction located minutes away in the town of Paint Rock.
