After finishing a paint job, there is usually some remaining paint. What is the best way to store left over paint?
Creative Carpentry gave some GREAT tips that most people never think to do :) I have a couple things I'd like to add that may also help:
~Many paint companies have begun offering their latex / water-based paints in plastic gallons rather than metal, for example Behr from Home Depot. In this case, you won't need to worry about the metal of the can harming the paint.
~NEVER store paint on your basement and/or concrete floor/slab. It WILL ruin the integrity of the paint, rendering it useless, so always put it on a shelf that's at least 6" off the surface (if storing in your basement and/or above concrete) or simply store it on a floor other than your basement/concrete slab, like a spare closet or garage shelf.
~NEVER expose the paint to freezing temperatures. Once even a little of the paint freezes, the chemical integrity of the paint is obliterated and is not worth attempting to revive.
~If you find yourself with a small amount left over and you just want to get rid of it, there are powders that you pour into the paint and after stirring for a bit, the paint becomes one mass that can be disposed of appropriately and the container recycled (depending on where you live).

Website states they are family oriented business and believe in treating everyone like family but not only are they not friendly over the phone but in person they are even worse. I truly believe there are many better plumbers in the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex when it comes to service, ethics and timeliness of their clients. Please remember to check the prices they charge for the actual supplies because they tend to charge 100% over the actual cost of the supplies and then also hit you with an extremely high labor cost. This company is like the old mechanic shop when you take your car in to get an oil change and they have you leaving with a completely new car. All I am going to say is PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU EVER THINK ABOUT USING THIS COMPANY BECAUSE YOU HAVE HUNDREDS OF BETTER OPTIONS IN THE DFW METROPLEX!!!... more

I have had two experiences with Mathis Air & Heat in the last year. The first time I called them was because my a/c was not blowing any air out of the vents, and the office staff was great! She was so friendly, and helped me to troubleshoot, found that a switch in my attic had just been turned off. I was happy, no charge or service tech necessary. The second time, I actually had a problem with my heat, and while in my home, the svc tech saw my dad struggling to remove our old hot water heater, and actually stopped and took the time to help him get it out. It only took a minute, but was very thoughtful. Our systems are working great now, thanks Mathis.... more
