Filters should be cleaned when water flow slows on the slow speed or recirculation pump.
The best way to clean a spa filter is a 3 stage process. First you'll want to degrease the filter. After the grease has been removed then you'll want to soak the filter in an acid solution to remove the minerals. Last you need to break down and remove the dirt. One of the best methods for this is your dishwasher, but many people just try to hose it off.
Do not use a pressure washer as it can damage the filter media.

DON'T USE
Complete mess of a company from the second they stepped foot in my house! When they first got here they couldn't do something because they had left the tape at the previous customers house, after leaving my house I notice they left some gauge reading device at my house. They talked me into buying a mesh cover for my unit outside once it shipped to me it was the wrong size. They left me a message to leave it outside and they would come pick it up, they never showed. After some phone tag they then left me a message saying they had shipped me a new one, they did. Now its getting cold so I called 2 weeks ago to get my "pre winter" furnace svc. (that I have already paid for, might I add). They said were not going to start scheduling those until the first week of October so call back then. I called back today, October 5th, they tell me they can get me in Jan. 5th. If I didn't have to pick at least one star, I wouldn't. Absolutely ridiculous!... more
