BUT, if you self-pub, you won't find your book in stores, and nobody will know about it unless YOU tell them. When you self pub, you are responsible for everything, including editing, cover art, marketing, advertising, etc.

There are good reasons for self-pubbing, but not for the average writer. You need a business plan and a marketing plan. Understand that nobody will be selling the book but you. If you don't have a fan base and a strong social network, your chances of selling any books is very low.

Most self-pubbed books sell less than 10 copies. Make sure you know what you're doing before you go this route.

BTW, you don't need to establish a company to self-pub a book.
