About Mequon

Mequon is a city located in Ozaukee County, Wisconsin. It had a population of 21,823 at the 2000 census, and an estimated population of 23,820 in 2006.The median age was 42 years and the median income for a household in the city was $90,733. The mayor is Curt Gielow. The area was originally inhabited by Native Americans. The name "Mequon" is thought to have come from the Native-American word "Emikwaan" or "Miguan," meaning ladle. This refers to how the Milwaukee River curves like a ladle in the Mequon area. In July 2005, CNN's Money Magazine listed Mequon 19th among its 100 Best Small Cities in the United States. Attractions include Thiensville Village Park‎ and Cedarburg Cultural Center‎. Each year during the summer season there is the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Funfest. Almost all of Mequon is served by the Mequon-Thiensville School District. Mequon is home to Concordia University, the Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and the northern campus of the Milwaukee Area Technical College. Local businesses include Spa Nebula & Salon and HomeSealed Exteriors, which is located in the nearby town of Milwaukee, WI.

The deductions for Medical and Dental expenses and for Mortgage Interest paid and Real Estate Taxes paid, etc. only serves to reduce your Taxable Income.

If, as you state, you had no taxable income then there isn't anything to reduce.

I'm just curious...how did you manage to pay your RE Taxes and your Health Insurance premiums and your Pharmacy bill and the upkeep on the house AND support your mother WITHOUT receiving any income for the year? Did you really rely on your personal savings for all of that? Also, what about Mom...doesn't she receive some sort of income?
