About Racine

Racine is a part of the Milwaukee metro area of Wisconsin known for its excellent harbor and the yummy treat Kringle. Major attractions include Wind Point Lighthouse and the lakefront Racine Zoo. Each year in the summer season there is a variety of fun activities including a fishing tournament, sand castle building contests, movies in the zoological gardens, and the Annual Western Days. Among the biggest companies in Racine are S C Johnson and Bombardier Motor Corp. The biggest schools here are University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Gateway Technical College. One of the best places to visit when you are in Racine is the Thomas P. Hardy House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. Famous persons from Racine include author Kevin Anderson (writer of the Dune prequels), actors Kristin Bauer, Ellen Corby, and Robert McRay, as well as many athletes including Kevin Berry, Shane Rawley, and Brent Moss, to name a few.
