Quinwood is a town in Greenbrier County, West Virginia. according to many, the town is a well-known speed trap. The community was named after founders Quin Morton and W.C. Wood. Their company was Imperial Smokeless Coal Co. The population for Quinwood as of July 2009 was 435. In 1947, Quinwood became one of the few coal camps to be incorporated. They also opened the Quinwood No. 2 mine just over the line in Nicholas County. Both mines were in the Sewell seam of coal. One area attractions is the Miners' Memorial Park. Be sure to visit the local Hill Top Restaurant which is one of the places left in Quinwood with some of the best hot dogs around. Quinwood has it's own Post Office. There are no schools in the actual town of Quinwood. Students attend a local area school. Local businesses include Hope Haven Inc and Ambulance.
