Webster Springs is a city located in Webster County, West Virginia. The city was originally named Addison in honor of Addison McLaughlin who donated the land where the town was originally laid out. The city became famous in the late 19th century for its many salt sulfur water wells. Webster Springs is also host to the annual Webster County Wood Chopping Festival. The festival is a week long lumberjack competition. Lumberjacks from all over the world come to the city to compete. Other events that happen in and around Webster Springs are the Webster Wildwater River Festival, The Jerry Run Summer Theater, and the July 4th Celebration.
