Lysite, named after Jim Lysaght, a miner who was killed by Indians in 1876, is located in Fremont County, Wyoming, in the Riverton metro area. Major attractions within minutes away are the Hot Springs County Historical Museum, a two-storey compley with a large collection of artifacts used in everyday life in Wyoming, with the majority of items dating from the 1880s through the 1930s, and the Wyoming Dinosaur Center & Dig Sites, featuring large dinosaur fossil quarries and museum exhibits of full-size, mounted skeletons. Businesses in Lysite include Melco Incorporated and Lysite Store. One of the best places to visit when you are in Lysite is the nearby Boysen State Park, a lake-orientated park with a variety of water-type recreation, day and camping facilities and interesting geological formations.
