Buying Connections

This is an interesting link I found

http://www.merchantcircle.com/merchant/sponsorConnect

I guess this means that from a MC point of view, our connecting is not about networking and developing relationships with members who we choose to connect with, but rather our connection can be purchased by anyone who wants to without any say in it. Is that correct?

Re: Buying Connections

I noticed this one too:

I guess MC thinks that for lazy people they can find customers who are willing to pay for what others work hard to do for themselves.

Re: Buying Connections

Believe it or not... we are responding to a need among our merchant have expressed. What we have found is that most merchant, especially small business merchants, are very busy. So it is not a function of 'laziness', but rather a function of time. Also, small businesses are realizing that they need to be online, but most have never been, and we have found this is their first time online.  So yes, we have created a product that walks merchants through the process and helps them build a professional looking listing, not unlike a web designer. (But you better believe that we have much better SEO.)

Similarly, the Local Sponsored Listing (LSL) is a product designed to automate the connection process most of our top merchants utilize. This tool simply allows you to invite all merchants in a designated area, and this process happens automatically. The new merchant or claiming merchant still has to accept the invitation.  It also has some enhanced communication features.

Regardless, we are always interested in you feedback. Please continue the conversation.

Best,

Teresa
