MerchantCircle July 2010 Fixes & Feature Enhancements!MerchantCircle recently rolled out new code and has implemented many of the new features that our merchants requested in July. We had our monthly product roll and also a mid month roll that covered the latter portion of July - mid August. While we can't answer every wish each month, we have an ongoing list of product suggestions and bug fixes that we gather from our community. We believe in giving credit where credit is due, so here are some of the highlights from this past months new product roll. 1) A request was made by Michele Gorham to have a blog preview feature. This has been implemented and now you can preview your entire blog prior to publishing.2) A request was submitted by Angela Loupe to improve the invites metrics in the dashboard of the merchant account. This has been done by removing a glitch of storing merchant connection requests that are no longer on the network. 3) A suggestion was made by Steve Presley to improve the relevancy of the invite suggestions that a merchant sees. This has been worked on in the first phase and will go through a second level of improvement over the next product roll. 4) A suggestion was made by Laura Farias to add more metrics to promotional content products to better gauge the effectiveness of creating content. The engineers have addressed this and now you can view metrics related to promotions, sales, coupons, etc.... 5) Bug was reported by MC Community Leader about not having a character limit on Status updates and "Talk To Me" posts. We removed any merchants from the mayor program that have an unconfirmed business listing. We are in the process of working on few other things related to the mayor program. 7) A bug was reported by Richard Smith regarding the flow of our answers product. There were refinements made to correct the messaging for a required email address to post an answer. 8) After a lot of feedback in both the forum and through various support channels, we have begun to work on the process for resetting and retrieving a password.9) A few local sponsor members raised their voice, and we answered. We made refinements to the product to not only find a sponsored business under the keyword/category they purchased, but also under many other keywords that are closely related to the business. This will help deliver more value to our local sponsored merchants. 10) There were several bugs that were submitted related to our recent Twitter/Facebook integration. Some of these were delay in posting time, not posting at all, inaccurate form in the post, etc.. and were bidirectional, some coming from the other sites and some when pushed from MC. There are more refinements to this integration, but the improvements made have been noted. We are very excited about all the bugs we fixed, enhancements we made, and products we released over July/early August. The reason I ask is because I posted a blog a couple of days ago and there was no option to preview available. Also, this was not my suggestion (I merely brought it up in the conference). Our next post will be in late September and will include everything that has been worked on related to your suggestions. Michele, the blog preview feature has been implemented (from what I have been told). I know they were working on this and the newsletter preview option last/current product roll. I forgot to mark who make the suggestion, so thank you very much for correcting me and giving credit to Mannie Tantawy, since credit should always be given when it's deserved. We should discuss this blog/newsletter issue on the next conference call (or one on one if you can't attend). Hope your short week hasn't been too busy. Have a wonderful weekend! Re: MerchantCircle July 2010 Fixes & Feature Enhancements!I've been exploring the new product and services feature and I must say, this is one of the best features I've seen added to a merchants listing in a long time....I am surprised it wasn't introduced with more fanfare...... At least an email... OK maybe it was in an email and I didn't read it.... I get sooooo many from M/C.... Anyhoo, I do have a suggestion... If the merchant could edit the order in which the products or services are dispayed after they are entered (like the feature that was added to the image gallery awhile back) it would be VERY helpful....
