Moving from free to paidThe forums were so active last year, and I'm hoping to get some help here again. I've posted in 2 other sections of the forum about changing my URL and changing certain features on my page, but I've received no response. Can someone walk me through the most economical paid pkg?Posted by Rochelle Paris on Mon Jun 28, 2010 08:35:00 AM |

Re: Moving from free to paidHi Rochelle,It is great to have you active and back in our community forum. I would love to help answer any/all questions that you have about our products. First of all to get the most out of our paid packages there must be a marriage between the free/paid services. Paying for various paid products will help increase your online visibility, as well as creating unique content on a regular basis. If you want the most economical paid package, I would suggest a starter circle packages, domain, instant website, 4 additional links, etc... they work for most marketing budgets and will nicely compliment your creating a content. Hope you are having a great Monday afternoon. Best, David Gwynn Posted by David Gwynn on Mon Jun 28, 2010 05:15:56 PM |

Re: Moving from free to paidIt took me 3 posts at 3 sections to finally get someone's attention. I have specific needs. My business exists only within a 15-mile radius of home, so my needs are very specific.I haven't done well here, because people are already ssspicious of ads they find on the internet. I getr far more pe 1-- I want to change my URL to remove my phone # 2-- I want some of the Facebook-like stuff off my page, because it reduces my credibility as a businesswoman. Older people and those who are not internet savvy don't know what to make of all that stuff. like "The Mayor of Bronxville" feature. Sounds like social networking stuff. I opted out of Mayor of Bronxville, but it's still there. Many folks have mistaken me, or maybe MC, for an online DIY service, and ask questions on my page rather than hiring me. 3--I would like to know about this page: https://www.merchantcircle.com/secure/domain_name?utm_medium=V2&utm;_source=V2Dmn Does the $5 charge still apply if I don't want the email?I have my own email address for my business. Re: Moving from free to paidDear Rochelle,I regards to your 2nd and 3rd question: Unfortunately there isn't much you can do in terms of redesigning your MerchantCircle listing. You have some flexibility with "what" content you would like displayed such as Talk to Me's, Reviews and such however there is no option to remove other features. We are working on an option to "Opt Out" of the Mayor Program. If this is something you feel you done urgently, you can manually opt out by disconnecting from several merchants in your town. This will cause the next "most connected" merchant in your town to become "mayor." To access different Listing Layouts: Click "Edit Profile">Layout and Color to select what layout you would like. Layout options do not differ much. You can click "Advanced Settings" to block certain content, such as Talk to Me's from being posted. Regarding the "domain inquiry," follow this link to learn more about the MerchantCircle Instant Website: Instant Website Link Best, Trish Posted by Trish Burnside on Wed Sep 8, 2010 05:10:42 PM |

Re: Moving from free to paidDear Merchant Community, The online landscape for business marketing is constantly becoming more and more competitive. Recently, we have witnessed a spike in free members migrating over to various paid products. Because of this, I wanted to direct all members to our paid products playlist on YouTube, which many videos about the various products that we offer. Here is the direct link to the "Paid Products" playlist on the MerchantCircle YouTube channel. The marriage between online activity (blogging, creating coupons, receiving reviews, etc....) and our paid products will produce the best results. Your businesses overall online visibility is dependent on you, so make sure you are doing your part to stay above your competition. Hope everybody is having a great week of business! Re: Moving from free to paidRochelle Paris :Dear Rochelle: First let me say hi! :) I believe you need direct targeting? Because your main customers are close at hand? This is true in my Cake Business as well where I target about a 50 mile radius around my bakery location. On another post http://www.merchantcircle.com/forum/thread/Local.Business.Discussion.and.Insights/Promoting.Your.Business.With.Small.Budget/47122?utm_source=dashboard&utm_medium=newsfeed#thread48659 I share how to use Google Ads---Targeting small and specific areas for a small business at a very low advertising cost. At MC I would recommend considering adding more cities to be seen at? This way you can target the cities close to you and perhaps a bit away from your initial 15 miles? Consider and then go forth! Now use MC coupons........Read mine for some example ideas where the coupon states it must be PRINTED FROM MC to be a valid coupon: This way you can monitor how they are working or not working for you. I do have FaceBook sites: However, I still am not sure Social Net Working pays off in any significant ways--except taking up allot of precious time. We also use Twitter and my opinion on that is identical! Use the FREE MC AD that you can create and make it pointed? Like I said I do use Google Word Ads------I have three running all the time and more from time to time: But most are very targeted. I also have 5 World Wide Online Stores and these we do target in advertising to larger advertisments. But, for a starting small area as you incline your's right now...Target Local Only! Use your MC listing as much as you can: It is FREE! Build upon it...add the link on your buisness cards and share it everywhere. Do you need a full Web Site for your business? If your basically within as you say that 15 mile area..I would say it is not at the top of the list for recommending at this time: However, if you go with adding cities and coupons and business picks up then considering a full line Business Page in concert with MC or elsewhere may be the next plateau to reach. I remember many years ago when I started Annlee Cakes (weddings, ect ect) it was from word of mouth in my city, and then built, expanded and grew. Now I have International Stores on other products rather than on cakes? Nevertheless, cakes remain my passion! Best regards.........Blessings.......Annlee Posted by Trulee A Wells Wells on Tue Sep 13, 2011 09:15:54 AM |
