I used to buy my flowers from all the way in Chicago and was very happy to find this shop right here in New York. I took a long lunch and headed to Queens to finally get some gorgeous origami flowers after the shop in Chicago closed (hint: support good merchants!) .

I prefer origami flowers because they are not your typical bouquet and last forever. I give them away on dates and the girl is always impressed. She better be! I spent hours googling, perusing, and picking them up in person!

The shop and owner are a treat to visit and it's in a quaint neighborhood in Queens. I vote with my money and I would rather support a small, quality shop in the US versus a flower farm some random place in the world.
