Chef JoAnna is a classically-trained chef who ...specializes in at-home fine dining. While attending culinary school in Santa Monica, CA, she earned a 4.0 GPA as well as certifications in Nutrition, Cost Control, Culinary Management and Safety & Sanitation. Originally from Chicago, Chef JoAnna has recently moved from Los Angeles to the Middle-South Tennessee area to establish an organic farm with an on-site restaurant.
In-Home Fine Dining: When you want to celebrate a special occasion, why go out when you can bring the restaurant to you? You choose the menu, the music, and serve wines from your own collection. Also, all the cooking is done in your home, so there are no additional costs for certified kitchen rentals, and you can supervise (taste!) all the recipes as they're being made.
Cooking Lessons: When it comes to teaching, Chef JoAnna shares her passion for food with her students. She is patient with beginners, but she will challenge more advanced cooking students to expand their skills. Chef JoAnna offers private cooking instruction from beginner to advanced. Since lessons are taught in your home, using your appliances, you'll be able to reproduce excellent results in your own kitchen! If you like Alton Brown's "Good Food" show, you'll find Chef JoAnna's manner and style to be similar.
Wine Tasting & Food Pairing: You don't have to be intimidated by a restaurant's wine list anymore. Let Chef JoAnna show you how to match wines to your favorite foods. Not only will you be more secure when faced with choosing a wine, you'll enjoy your wine, and your food, that much more.

Chef JoAnna is a GREAT cooking teacher!
I hired Chef JoAnna as a private chef for a cooking lesson for me and my girlfriend for my girlfriend's birthday. We had so much fun! I found her website online and decided to give her a call. Chef JoAnna provided a range of options for the menu and let me choose wha...t I thought would be a good dinner to cook together. I told her it was a surprise for my girlfriend's birthday, and she even helped keep it a secret (we were in touch over email and by text). We drove to her kitchen, which is about 1.5 hr outside of Nashville. She also will travel to use your kitchen as well. The menu was a 3 course Indian food meal (I chose the cuisine beforehand, she recommended some menu choices) that my girlfriend and I cooked together with Chef JoAnna's instruction. She had some appetizers waiting for us so that we wouldn't be hungry waiting for our food to cook. She took time to explain a lot of different cooking techniques (both of us were kitchen novices), so we were able to learn a lot! Once the entree was done, we enjoyed our dinner with wine that I brought. After the entree, we enjoyed dessert together. I would recommend Chef JoAnna for any cooking lessons. I was able to pay for everything with a credit card. We kept the leftovers and leftover unused groceries. She was a great teacher, and my girlfriend and I were able to make our own gourmet meal. We both really enjoyed the whole evening!
