It is a time for recognizing those who contribute to the quality of life here on the E...astern Shore. The event attracts visitors from surrounding states and as far away as the Midwest and West Coast. This is a family friendly festival. Great Event! and great people too!
Since we were asked to design their poster 6 years ago, my husband and I couldn't help but become more and more involved in this great community event. It just gets better and better. There is such a wonderful feeling to stand in the festival while the music is playin...g, people are singing-watching brightly costumed african dance and drumming. It's usually so hot in August, but Nutter Park always seems to have a breeze - it carries the gospel, reggae, steel drums, and rhythm-n-blues all around the park, while folks enjoy soul food, Caribbean cooking, and good old funnel cake and Italian ices. We always try to make sure we're in town on the second Saturday in August every year.
AFRAM is a summer highlight!
The AFRAM Festival at Nutter Park is one of the highlights in Delaware's festival calendar.
The evening concerts are a great way to finish the day.
