My Summit 1st Grader!

Summit is a place where my son is excited to be. Recently, he was sitting in class listening to his teacher describe what they would be doing during the next hour. This was not an out-of-the-ordinary task being described. But, my son, sat in his chair, with his fists... clenched saying to himself YES! He was actually shaking with excitement. That kind of enthusiasm is not found at just any school. The teachers at Summit are able to get the kids to be enthusiastic and passionate about learning.

Highly Recommended - 5 Stars!

In my opinion, Summit is the best value in education in the Cedar Rapids area. It is is a good choice for those who value a good, strong educational foundation for their children. There is a place for every type of student at Summit. Because of the small class sizes,... each student can get the attention he or she needs. The gifted child can learn at an accellerated pace and is not held back by the rest of his/her class. The child with attention problems will receive needed re-direction from his or her teacher so he or she can maximize learning time. Summit students score among the highest in the area in standardized testing and students leaving Summit for middle school are typically very successful. What drew me to Summit was the pre-k program. Summit offers a full-time (8:30 - 3:30) school day for pre-k students. It also offers before and after school care. I sent both of my children through this program. It did not cost any more than daycare! And they learned preliminary reading and math skills, Spanish, participated in art, PE, field trips (to an orchard, to a nature center to see bats in October, to the airport, etc.), participated in ice skating, gymnastics, tae-kwon-do and community volunteer projects. It is a "no brainer" for a child who is already in daycare. Summit is roughly equivalent in cost and it offers SO MUCH MORE!!!
