3D televisions are becoming very popular for consumers to purchase. A lot of people don't understand the difference between 3D-ready televisions and 3D television. There is enough of a difference between the two televisions that could affect which one you purchase. You'll get a quality viewing experience from either type of television however.

3D Ready TV

These types of televisions are capable of producing 3D images but need additional hardware. A lot of people who purchase these types of televisions are considering 3D TV, but aren't quite sure. The cost of the hardware upgrades will vary based on model and year of the television. You'll also need to purchase 3D glasses after you've upgraded the hardware. The glasses should be available in local electronic stores.

3D TV

These types of televisions already include the necessary hardware to produce 3D images. You should be able to watch any program that is offered in 3D. Remember that not all programming will be offered in 3D. You'll need to check with your local cable provider about what channels are offered in 3D with your subscription package. You'll probably have to purchase 3D glasses for these televisions as well.

Considerations

If you notice a lot of channels you watch are also available in 3D, these televisions would be a smart purchase. The number of 3D channels will only continue to rise so pay attention to when your favorite channels are also available in 3D. Shop around for these types of televisions; you should be able to find a good deal somewhere. Purchase these televisions from name brand stores however because there is a lot of scams on the market today.
