How to Identify Information Communication Technology

About Advances in Communication Technology

Today, communication technology is so improved compared to fifty years ago that it is staggering. Almost each year technology improves, bringing smaller, lighter and faster modes of communication, in wonder of what the world will be like in 50 years. Although there are great benefits, there are several drawbacks in communication advances.

Internet

Be cautious with the Internet. The benefits of the Internet allow you to visit, watch, and hear of things all around the world from your living room. The Internet has expanded dramatically since its introduction to the public, with communication for email, Facebook and even printing a letter. This speedy device has overtaken "snail mail" and is a great advance in technology. Unfortunately, the Internet does draw some drawbacks, such as hacking private information and bank accounts, uncontrollable viruses, and computer crashes.

Cell Phone

Another advance in communication is the cell phone. Cell phones can contain a variety of applications and tools, combining texting, alarms clocks, calculators, GPS, and Internet all in one spot. The drawbacks of cell phones are in the physical makeup, as many of them break or crack when dropped on the floor, and a recent study revealed a harmful radiation from prolonged uses of the cell phone. Consider the drawbacks of each improvement in technology.

Computer

The computer is technology that greatly outweighs the bulky typewriter. With a computer, you can easily create, edit, erase and save documents in organized files. Computers must be kept in shape however, and checked often for dust or particles in the mechanism itself, which will lead to overheating or “freezing.”

All in All

Realize that there are two sides to the coin. Although technological advances bring faster, newer models, there are drawbacks that still need improvement. There can be dangers to watch out for before introducing newer technology to the public.
