About Baby Clothes for Girls
When buying clothes for a baby, there's never a shortage of adorable outfits to choose from. This is particularly true when buying clothing for baby girls. While some of your basics are the same at this age regardless of gender, there are often differences in colors and prints that set them apart. In addition, there are other clothing items that specifically have girl appeal.
- Baby Dresses - Dresses are perhaps the one item that is uniquely girl-oriented. Baby dresses are a fun mixture of darling bows, sashes, ruffles, and lots of volume. On the opposite end of frilly are more trendy dresses that closely mimic those worn by older children. Regardless of your personal style, there are dresses suitable for every occasion, from holiday celebrations to weekday outings in a stroller. Dresses are often worn with tights or fancy socks with ruffles.
- Colors, Prints and Detailing - In general, baby girl clothing comes in a broader selection of bright, vibrant colors than what can be found for baby boy apparel. While blue is included in the color selection, yellows, reds, pinks and purples are also available in solids or in multi-color combination. Prints such as hearts, flowers, butterflies and lady bugs also often adorn baby girls' clothing. Detailing, such as ruffles, not only appear on dresses, also on pants and infants' onesies.
- T-Shirts - T-shirts for girls often include cute, whimsical sayings, such as "Princess", "Daddy's Little Girl" or "Cutie Pie." Others may be solid or have large decorative elements, such as flowers, bows or animal prints.
- Hats - Often when dressing little girls, parents use some form of head wear to complement the outfit that's chosen. Hats are a popular choice and are often adorned with a single large flower or bow. When it is too warm for a hat, headbands are also a popular choice, and like hats they frequently have a sizable flower or bow attached to one side of them.
