About Cherokee Arts Center

The Cherokee Arts Center, which can be found in quaint and historic Canton, Georgia, is located in what used to be the Canton Methodist Church. Now a historical building, the Center is the community center for the arts in Cherokee County, Georgia, catering to artistic endeavors for both children and adults.

Classes

The Cherokee Arts Center offers community classes for both children and adults in many different arts mediums. Community members interested in registering for art classes can contact the Center for current schedules and pricing.

Exhibitions

A proud purveyor of local talent, the Cherokee Arts Center prides itself on holding nine yearly exhibits that showcases the talent of the Greater Canton area. By displaying collections of art by local artists who find their inspiration in the Georgian culture, the Center draws interest to its programming and fosters an appreciation for art in the community.

Camps

To involve children and adults in the Canton arts community, the Cherokee Arts Center offers daylong art camps as well as camps for children on summer and seasonal breaks from school. The Center hopes to expand and re-image the camp program as it has existed, but has been an art staple in the area with the long-running Camp Imagine. It has also hosted national camp programs, such as Bits, Bytes and Bots.

Activities and Events

While classes, camps and exhibits keep the community busy and focused on the visual arts, the Cherokee Arts Center also hosts community theater presentations, open mike nights for those interested in performance art, and group settings to share in experiences, like their popular "Corkscrews and Canvas" wine nights. For those interested in any facet of the arts community in the greater Canton area, the Cherokee Arts Center can provide a meaningful and inspiring experience for children and adults.
