About Drinking Water Filters
There are varies types of drinking water filters that kill different types of contaminants. There are specific reasons and advantages to using a water filter. Without the use of a water filter, you make your family and yourself susceptible to bacteria and other impurities. Learn all the benefits of using water filters before making your final decision.
Drinking water filters are another name for “water purifiers.” They remove the unwanted chemicals and bacteria from the water.
Water filters are good for removing inorganic minerals and eliminating the taste of chlorine. Inorganic minerals are damaging to our health. If you consumer large amounts of these minerals daily then, over time you will develop arthritis and renal problems. Chlorine does have its benefits; it kills germs and bacteria. However, the National Cancer Institute show that persons who drink chlorinated water are 98 percent higher to develop cancer than a person who do not drink chlorinated water.
Drinking water filters also remove pesticides. Ground water is what 95 percent of the population drinks. Yet, pesticides are still affecting the ground water because the pesticides get onto the water surfaces.
There are three basic water filters on the market today; distillers, reverse osmosis filters and activated carbon water filters.
- Distillers heat water until it vaporizes. The bacteria, minerals and other substances that were contained in the water are left behind. The steam cools and turns into pure water.
- Reverse osmosis filters uses a technology that is based on natural occurrences between to liquids. When water is forced under pressure against an ultra-fine semi-permeable membrane only superfine, molecules can come through leaving the contamination.
- Activated carbon water filters treat odor and the taste of chlorine. When water flows through the machine, the contaminants stick to the carbons. This is the best method for getting rid of chemicals, bacteria and pesticides in water.
