Many people choose to work in the Public Health field to educate and provide services to the public. Those working in public health can choose to work in the medical, nutrition and psychological field. There are also many other fields were public health care workers can devote their time.
Degree’s
Most people who work in the public health care field have a minimum of a master’s degree in the field. There are many other opportunities for those holding a bachelor’s or associates degree. Individuals holding a bachelor’s degree are usually on the lower paying scale and may hold entry level positions.
Types of Jobs
There are many different career paths a person working in the public health field may choose. Individuals may work to educate pregnant women about the importance of nutrition. You may also have doctors that work in community health programs to give less fortunate individuals quality health care. Behavioral science jobs are very high in demand within the public health field. Some public health workers also choose to open their own private practices because they are able to get to know their patients on a more personal level.
Benefits
Many communities benefit from having public health workers. With the right education of different types of illnesses and conditions individuals can live longer and healthy lives. Mortality rates are often high because of lack of education about illnesses and conditions. Many times illnesses could have been prevented if a person would have known about prevention or different types of treatment.
