About Vintage Bathroom Designs
Vintage bathroom designs are back in style. The clean and simple lines of the 1920’s to the 1930’s will have your bathroom looking clean and sparkling in no time at all. Vintage designs are elegant yet simple. So if you are planning a new bathroom this is the way to go.
Bath Fixtures
Antique pedestal sinks, claw footed tubs, Roman bathtubs and gorgeous art deco fixtures are great but expensive and at times can be hard to find. You also have to realize that these items are very rare and very heavy. It is best to go with a more modern and lightweight version of these antiques. You still have your vintage design without the price and worrying that they are going to eventually cause you floor to collapse.
Flooring
Using a 1920’s design for the floor of your bathroom is the way to go with vintage designs. A black and white check works well as well as small different colored tiles. Ceramic or stone tile is the best and an even a simple all white floor is vintage and will help save on decorating costs down the road.
Walls
Tiles or bead board works for walls in a vintage design. It is easy to install and looks great with the floors and bath fixtures you have chosen.
Storage
Metal medicine cabinets were used in the 1920’s in bathrooms. You can purchase these at many places for a not to costly price. Add one of the vintage tall cabinets in the corner to put your bathroom stuff in and then add an antique dresser for added storage ideas. Make sure to put a heated towel rack in your vintage bathroom to add ambience.
