All About Spas

Spas are often a favorite getaway for women and couples. A spa offers a relaxing environment and pampering for over-worked bodies. A spa can be weekend retreat, a day out or a vacation destination. Most spas offer full service facilities.

What is a Spa?

A spa is a place to heal your body and your mind, services such as massage, facials, body treatments and much more. Some spas also offer dietary treatments to cleanse the body of toxins. Services and prices will depend on which spa you choose to visit.

Day Spas

A day spa is much like a beauty salon; prices are generally similar to regular beauty maintenance. You can walk in or make an appointment. You have the ability to select one or two treatments, only taking an hour or two out of your day. Full day sessions are available, offering an entire day of treatments.

Spa Retreat/Hotel

Like any other hotel, you have your own room, restaurant and amenities such as a pool. Each facility has its own theme, and some are more upscale than others are. The idea at a retreat is to leave daily life behind and focus on healing your entire body. Some retreats offer set programs, managing everything you eat and setting your scheduled services. Other retreats allow you to control your schedule and offer a more vacation-like experience. Most spas offer packaged deals for couples and weekend or weeklong stays. Destination spas are gaining in popularity, offering guests the chance to travel as well as pamper themselves.
