Auto Body Repair and Painting Services
Nobody expects to get into a car accident. However, when it happens, life can be difficult as you try to get your car back into driving shape again. Auto body repair and painting can take cars that have been in a wreck and make them like new again.
When you have been in an accident, your auto insurance company will determine if your car is a total loss. If they believe that it is, then they will help you purchase a new one. If not, then you will need the services of an auto body shop. These shops can help vehicles in several different ways:
- Painting service - Auto body shops can help clean up scratches, gouges and faded areas of a car's paint job. Using a process called "feathering", they find the closest color to the car's paint and apply their paint to the damaged areas. Upon completion of this process, customers will not be able to see a difference between the factory paint and the auto body shop's paint.
- Welding - Many times, parts of a car become unattached from the body during an accident. Using blowtorches and other soldering equipment, auto body shops can reassemble pieces of a car after an accident.
- Window repair - The most-often damaged part of a vehicle is the glass. Most auto body shops are able to repair a windshield or other broken windows. Some shops are also able to fix cracks or chips in the glass without having to replace the entire piece.
- Dent repair - During impact, most cars will have panels that dent or cave in. An auto repair shop can fix dents and dings in car panels. If necessary, they can also replace entire panels or doors of the car.
