Benefits of Having a Security Fence

“Good fences make good neighbors” -- Proverb

Ever since 9/11, personal safety has been an ongoing concern. We do not live in the times of our parents anymore. Gone are the days of leaving the doors unlocked and Lenny and Squiggy of 'Laverne and Shirley' bursting in with an unannounced "Hello"! The best kind of home to live in is the most secure one.

  • Security. Having a security fence installed says to the outside world that you are serious about your safety. It gives the illusion of your house being a fortress; the safest place on the planet -- not only to the outsiders looking in, but also to your family. When a potential criminal notices the in-your-face security fence glaring at him, warning him that this will not be easy for him, he will be quick to pass your home and look for his victim elsewhere.

  • Privacy. People are starting to live closer to each other than ever before; privacy can be a little hard to come by. A security fence, in particular, a tall wooden picket fence is ideal to keep prying eyes from out of your personal business; plus, a wooden picket fence adds a quaint characteristic to the property.

  • Increases Property Value. When people go out looking for a home to buy, questions they ask the Realtor are how safe the neighborhood is and whether the homes have security systems of some sort. Even if the neighborhood ranks average to above average in safety, a person might still prefer to have a home that has a security fence, even if just for future real estate issues. A home might sell a lot faster with a security fence than one without one. Plus, depending on the style and choice made, the home might look better with a security fence anyway.
