Best Way to Find a Custom Home Builder

You are ready to build a new home. You have some unique designs for your new home. You know what you want, but do you know the best person to build your customized home? You want to find someone who has experience and is a professional. Here is the best way to find a custom homebuilder.

First, talk with family, friends and co-workers. It is likely that someone in your social arena has also built or customized a home recently. That person may be able to refer you to someone who can do the job professionally. By talking with others, you may not find the perfect custom homebuilder, but you may find the ones to avoid.

If you do not know anyone in the area who builds customized homes, log onto MerchantCircle and look for a reputable customized homebuilder in your area. MerhcantCircle will provide you with contact information and give you access to other customer reviews. You can also use a reputable search engine such as Google, Yahoo or Ask to search for a custom homebuilder in your area.

Once you have found several custom homebuilders you are interested in, set up an appointment to interview the homebuilder. Ask questions about his/her experience, training and unique style. Ask to see pictures of other customized projects. Even if you are set on one particular builder, be sure to interview a couple additional builders. This will help you collect information and feel more strongly about your initial decision.

After you have decided on the perfect custom homebuilder, contact that builder and make arrangements to sign a contract. Make sure that you are comfortable with the builder personally as well as professionally before you sign any contract.
