Choosing the Best Pet Sitting Services

Unfortunately, even if you would like to take your pet everywhere, you may not be able to. Airlines are tightening their belts and for some this means charging a lot extra for pets or not allowing pets to travel at all. Hotels are not always pet-friendly. And business travel may mean that you are too busy to attend to your pet. Luckily there are options for your pet when they are left behind.

Professional Kennels: These are business that take your pet in and offer a variety of amenities. Most often, your pet has a narrow run to itself, is fed twice a day and walked once a day. However, if you have the money and are looking for more for your pet there are many who offer "Doggie Daycare" services. Your dog gets more attention throughout the day and even has the opportunity to have grooming done. Look into kennels in your area to see what they have to offer.

Veterinarian Boarding: Many veterinarians allow boarding of pets. This might be a less expensive alternative to professional kennels, but may not have all of the options.

Pet Sitter: A pet sitter comes a few different ways. Either a person stays in your house and cares for your pet, take the pet into their house or just stop by your house a few times a day to make sure that the pet receives attention and food.

Important things to remember:

  • Read reviews before you leave your pet with someone.

  • Only leave your pet with people you trust.

  • You generally have to bring your own food for your pet.
