Different tools are used for different purposes while making or maintaining floors. Choose the specifications you need in order to do the task, depending upon the floor type, and the type of floor.  There are tools used for marking, setting, adhesive application and other forms of finishing jobs.

Power Drill

The power drill is an electrical/mechanical machine, which is used as an all round machine for punching holes through material, fastening of planks, and anchoring wooden or other types of planks through slabs. Through a motor that rotates the bit holder, the power drill is engaged into action through triggering the gun on its handle. At the other end is the bit, which comes in different replaceable sizes. It is a steel rod that has a grip on one side and a sharpened area on the other side where impact with the material is made. Masonry bits are used to drill through concrete while twist bits are used to drill through on timber and wooden material.

Chalk snap line

This is a simple mechanical tool that wood flooring professionals used while determining straight lines on the floor they are about to work on. It consists of a long string wound on a plastic or metal casing. The casing contains chalk, which has soaked into the string. This is used to create a straight line whenever one end is sank into the ground and the other end is held firmly.

Chop Saw

This is a kind of a circular bladed saw that floor installers use to cut the timber into precise lengths. The blade suspends on one end, while its arm is used to lower the blade in order to come into contact with the material.

Nail Punch

As the word suggests, this is an instrument used to drive in nails, mostly through momentum impact. It is a short metallic rod with its tip having the size of the nail that is being punched through the material. The installer usually places its tip on the nail that is firmly placed in the material and taps its butt, thus driving the nail through the material. They are used in order to avoid damaging surfaces through the hammer’s face.
