DIY Baby Headbands

Making your own baby headbands is a great way to create adorable headbands for your baby at a fraction of the cost.  They are easy to make, and only require a few supplies.  You can also make as many as you need to match different outfits.

Flower Headbands

To make adorable flower headbands for your baby, begin by purchasing artificial flowers from a craft store.  These flowers can be as big as you want them to be.  You will need to separate the silk flower from the green plastic stem.  Once you have done this, arrange the petals by placing one on top of the other.  Use a hot glue gun to glue the petals back together.  Be careful not to burn yourself when using a hot glue gun on the flower petals, as they are very thin.  There are many items you can glue to the center of the flower including a rhinestone, faux gem or cute button.  Once the flower is complete, you can make the headband.  This can be made using stretchy elastic lace, or an adult headband cut to fit the baby's head.  Form a 15-inch circle out of the elastic lace or headband, and sew the ends together.  Use your hot glue gun to attach the flower to the headband.

Tips

There are several things you can do to create headbands.  Try attaching several different flowers, appliqués or feathers to the elastic headband.  You can also use a hot glue gun to attach these items to alligator clips, and attach the alligator clips to the headband.  This makes it easy to switch out the pieces if you want to match them to different outfits.
