DIY Boat Storage
Storing a boat in a marina can be really tough on your wallet. There are several other ways that you can store a boat besides putting it in a marina. Sometimes you have to be a little creative with your methods depending on your resources and options.
Storage Unit: A storage unit is often much cheaper than storing your boat at a marina. While you are still shelling out money to store your boat by using this option, it will save you money and allow for any repairs that may be needed during the off season. The downside to using a storage unit is that it can be difficult to get your boat in and out if you wanted to go fishing.
Boat Tarp: A tarp in the backyard is sometimes the easiest and cheapest option when it comes to storing your boat for the winter. Many people don't like this option because the boat is left to most of the elements, but in some cases it is the best option. Leaving the boat on the trailer can also make it easier for transportation if you need to move it or feel like taking it out for a cruise on the lake or river.
Garage: If your boat is small enough to fit easily in your garage, this is a good option for those with little funds to store your boat. Many like this option even though a boat takes up most of the space in the garage because it is dry and warm, meaning that the interior of the boat has very little chance of being ruined.
