Patio and paver blocks make it possible for you to easily design and build your own outdoor area, giving you a space to relax while increasing the value of your home.
- Carefully choose the area where you would like create a patio or other feature. Draw your design on paper to help visualize your final product. Remember to work around existing landscape features to maintain natural lines.
- Drive stakes into the ground around the perimeter of your project area. Run string along these stakes to create a frame. You will later use this visual frame to check that your design is straight. A clean style with straight lines will ensure your patio or path looks like the work of a professional.
- Make installation easier by fitting the edge restraints before placing the blocks. These edge restraints keep the blocks from sliding around and separating.
- The pavers must be placed on a half foot bed of gravel with a few inches of sifted sand on top. Avoid pressing down the sand after sifting.
- Beginning in a corner, place the pavers in a straight, even design. The blocks must have a 1/8” gap separating them. Trim or cut some pavers to fit within the edge restraints.
- Incorporate planters, planted beds and other foliage to make the patio, path or other feature blend into your yard while also reflecting the design of your home.
