Decorating Cupcakes for a Christening
A baby’s christening brings joy to family. A christening honors the age-old tradition of a family promising to raise the child in the church and allow faith to guide the child throughout life. After a christening ceremony the family has a reception either at the church or at the family home.
The reception is not necessarily a huge event. Most families opt for coffee, tea, cake and other finger foods. Cupcakes are ideal for this reception because of the ease in which they are eaten. Decorating these cupcakes can be fun and pretty. The frosting can be a key ingredient in decorating. Blue for a boy or pink for a girl is a great traditional way to celebrate the child. Adding some white frosting that has been piped onto the cupcake in the form of the child’s name is a delicate and simple way to decorate these edible treats.
Going to a craft or party store can bring some added decoration ideas. Whether the frosting is blue or pink or white, a non-edible decoration can add elegant flair to the sweets. A small, plastic dove, lamb or cross can adorn each cupcake for the reception. These little cakes can be decorated with plastic or edible diapers or butterflies. The idea of peace and love are centered on the child for a christening and should be shown in the decoration of these cupcakes.
Decorating cupcakes for a christening does not have to be extremely difficult or extremely detailed. Plastic or edible baby rattle, baby bottles or booties can be strategically placed on every cupcake in different colors. A christening can have a theme just like any other party and the cupcakes should be decorated accordingly. When all else fails and the family, mother, or other friend-of-the-family bakers are exceptionally busy; a bakery can whip up a batch of christening cupcakes that will delight everyone.
