Decorating Ideas for a Guest House

A guest house should show a bit of personality, including some antiques and history. The true definition of decorating for a guest house means that it should be comfortable and cozy looking for guests. These ideas can be used for guest house inspiration.

Floral Theme

A floral guest house will make it feel friendly and comfortable. Having a small garden in the front and back yard with plenty of botanicals makes it have gracious and welcoming vibe. For inside the guest house, there should be plenty of bouquets and center pieces on the surrounding tables. For the bedroom, have at least one on the table so it doesn’t seem too extreme and gaudy.

Clean Theme

If you want the guest house to feel a bit more stream lined, you can add bare minimal décor and keep a color coordinated house to give it an edge. The furniture should still have personality to them, so keep light and airy colors, or bold hues. Never have just plain black and white, this will make the home drab and unwelcoming.

Vintage Theme

This is another great option for a guest house. Not only will it add character, but it also makes it comfortable for strangers to get accustomed to. Antique knick knacks can be lined up on the shelves with some state centric pieces to add interest. Lighting can be dim to keep the home feeling at peace and relaxed. Bedrooms can have old Victorian beds and lamps with velvet drapes.
