Duties of Commercial Interior Designers
Now more than ever the look of your business is important to attract clients. If you have an office space in need of designing, than a commercial interior designer might just be who you need to hire. It's more than picking curtains and paint colors. Commercial interior designers can help you improve functional space, keep things safe, as well as make your building aesthetically pleasing to your customers.
What can a commercial interior designer do for you?
Keep you legal:
It's important to have a professional who knows how to read and work with blueprints. They also know fire codes, building codes, and other important structural information to keep your office building legal. They even know how to make spaces accessible for those with disabilities. This saves you time and allows you to focus on running your business.
Make things ______ (welcoming, modern, comfortable, or whatever your priority is):
There is a lot that goes into putting a space together. From wall color, to lighting, to choosing furniture, commercial interior designers can work with you to make the space fit your clientele. They are trained to work with style and color, understand textures, and even do architectural detail.
Communicate between the other people you will be using:
Depending on the nature of the project, you might also need to hire contractors or construction experts. It is the job of the designer to coordinate with these workers and oversee their work.
Keep you clued in to what they are doing:
Few people want an interior designer to make all of the decisions. That is why the usual procedure for an interior designer is as follows:
Collect information: They will
first get to know you, the client. They will find out your specific
needs and wants. They will also get to know your work space.Concept Design: The designer will
work on their design and make a presentation to you. Depending on
how you like it, they will either fix your dislikes or move forward.Develop a Timeline: They will let
you know how long this project will take to complete.Take Care of Your Space: They will
then move forward and design your space.
