A spray of hot sauces mixed well is also a multi-bug deterrent. Boil together a small onion, chopped, a bulb of garlic, and a red hot chili pepper, 1 liter of water and at the end, 2 teaspoons of dish soap. Run the solution through a filter before placing it into a squirt bottle and spray away.

Many bugs are attracted to light. Some people will place a shallow pan with water and dish soap in it on the floor with a nightlight plugged in and turn off all the lights. In the morning, there will be several hundreds of bugs, all drowned in the soapy water.
