Equipment Used at a Laundry Mat

If you are opening a laundry mat, you must own the right equipment to get the business running efficiently. Having the right equipment will help you retain your customer base because they would not feel the need to go to your competitor due to lack of the necessary equipment at your business. Use this guide to help you find the right equipment for your laundry mat.

Washing Machine

Having the appropriate load capacity is an important consideration when you look for laundry equipment. Make sure you select washing machines that can accommodate small, medium and large loads. Look at washing machines that have high extraction speed of at least 1000 rpms as this will extract the water faster and result in lower energy cost. Look also for the machines with the Energy Star label to help reduce energy cost as well. If you have a small space, consider using stackable washing machines, this will open up more space and allow customers to attend to their clothing easier.

Dryers

Consider using dryers with varying capacity to accommodate different customers need. Choose those with large lint compartments so you do not have to worry about cleaning the lint compartment immediately after each use, or choose a dryer with self-cleaning lint screens. It might cost you a little bit more than the regular machines but worth the cost, especially if you have an unmanned establishment.

Iron Rollers

A commercial laundromat need high efficient roller irons, if you are going to do any ironing on the premises. These rollers come in different sizes, and some even feed and fold automatically and also stack the clothing, eliminating the need for extra personnel. Consider also owning a flatbed ironing machine as make it easier to iron shirts what would normally take minutes to finish will take you seconds instead.

Utility

Most laundromat choose to use gas for their commercial dryers because it tends to cost less than electricity, and some think gas dryers dries the clothes faster. However, review both options carefully to determine, which will be more appropriate for your business.
