Example of a Sales Consultant CV
A curriculum vitae (CV) is essentially another term for a resume. It is used to present a compact background of your work history and qualifications in order to sell yourself to a potential employer. Sales experience highlights and an emphasis on your persuasive personality are examples of items included on a sales consultant's CV.
Sales consultants are responsible for ascertaining the needs of a niche market of consumers and selling a product that best meets those requirements by focusing on the benefits that the item will bestow upon its users. Those sales consultants who are successful at their jobs are normally inquisitive individuals who understand the need to apply research and analysis in order to properly perform their duties, while still maintaining an extroverted personality that is able to convey enthusiasm and build trust in apprehensive customers.
Since the term curriculum vitae is a Latin expression that means "the course of my life," a sales consultant's CV should contain an overview of their history, including current and past professions, educational and job related certifications and awards they have earned as a result of their outstanding salesmanship. An example of a sales consultant's curriculum vitae is as follows:
- Contact Information - List name, address, phone number(s), and email address.
- Education - Include all of the college degrees which you have obtained or any certifications which have afforded you greater development as a sales consultant. Sales training courses, customer service classes and professional enrichment sessions can all be listed under this sub-heading.
- Employment History - Be sure to list all of your jobs, even those that apparently have little to do with sales. Most employers appreciate a well-rounded employee, and jobs that complement your sales experience will increase your value to their company.
- Major Achievements - This is where you should shine. Any awards, designations or titles you have received because of your sales skills should be listed in detail. Include the dates when the achievements were garnered and the company/school that issued them. Some examples of achievements to include are "most improved," "sales goals reached for the month of ____" and "top earner."
