Find Affordable Jewelers
Finding affordable jewelers need not be a challenge. Although some jewelers may mark up the cost of the jewelry substantially, many do not. In fact, the jewelry business is very competitive, so many jewelers offer deep discounts to gain customers. Finding affordable jewelers is easier than you think. You just need to know where to look.
1. Surf the Internet. Finding affordable jewelers is as easy as turning on your computer. Discount jewelers are plentiful on the Internet, and some even offer perks such as free delivery and coupons. In addition, many online affordable jewelers are members of the Better Business Bureau, or BBB, so you can easily find out if they are reputable, and what their BBB standing is.
2. Consider discount retailers. Stores such as Kmart, Target and Walmart have affordable jewelry departments. These stores carry a large inventory of fine and costume jewelry, most at very affordable prices and liberal return policies.
3. Check out the mall. Shopping malls are a haven for affordable jewelers. Some even advertise savings of up to 50-percent off retail pricing. Again, since the jewelry business is so competitive, shopping mall jewelers might garner you substantial savings on your next jewelry purchase.
4. Get referrals. Ask your friends and family if they know of any affordable jewelers. Chances are, they'll be able to recommend a few reputable and affordable jewelers.
5. Don't confuse cheap with affordable. Typically, affordable jewelers offer jewelry that is moderately priced, but high in quality. Conversely, cheap jewelers, or jewelers who sell cheap items, might offer low priced jewelry, but the quality may be lacking. When considering making a purchase from an affordable jeweler, make sure the quality of your purchases are satisfactory.
6. Take to the yellow pages. Check out yellow page ads in your quest to find affordable jewelers. Their ads will generally let you know what they offer as far as pricing goes. If affordable pricing is a selling point, it will be apparent in their advertisements.
