Finding Affordable Wall Paint
Whether you are painting your home because it looks dull or if you are just simply ready for a change, you want to find a high quality paint that is going to look good, but will not break the bank. There are many affordable wall paint options to choose from, and it won’t be hard to find a cheap brand you like.
- Go to your local privately owned small paint store and see what they have available for paint brands. These owners may work with you on lowering the price and save you some money because they are always interested in new local business, and in return, you are able to support your local community.
- Head out to your home improvement stores like Menards, Lowe's, and Home Depot and ask the sales associate about their house brands. Lowe's high quality affordable brand is Valspar, and Home Depot’s is Behr. They are equal in quality so you just need to compare the prices. Be sure to check for coupons that come in the mail, the Sunday paper, or find ones you can print from websites.
- Stop in at your superstores including Walmart and Meijer to check their rates of paint. These brands are just as good as the local competitors, and sometimes they are half the cost. They will also have much more affordable painting supplies to go along with the paint.
- Compare prices at a local hardware store if they carry paint. Hardware stores often carry larger sizes of paint cans, and this allows you to get more paint for the money. If they are locally owned they may discount the price for multiple cans, or give you some free paint supplies with the purchase.
- Call contracting companies in the area and ask them where they get their paint from. Often times they purchase their paint from stores such as Sam’s Club or Direct Buy. You can easily get a membership and get the paint you want at wholesale prices.
- Check online companies and have the paint shipped to you. Be sure that you have chosen the color that you are positive that you want before you order it.
