Being the owner of a bookstore can be very rewarding. Most bookstore owners go into the business because of their love for books and reading. It is important for bookstore owners to supply their customers with the best books possible, this means the store needs a good supplier. There are things you can do to ensure you have one of the best suppliers for your bookstore.

• Determine the type of books you want to sell to your customers.  Even if many books are available you may want to limit yourself to selling books in a specific genre such as business, religious, or fiction and nonfiction. Narrowing your selection down may help you find a supplier a lot easier.

• Ask the book supplier about any special services they may have. Free shipping can be a lifesaver, especially when ordering large orders. Check with the suppliers about what they offer, and then choose the best one based on your bookstore's needs.

• Make sure you use backup book suppliers and keep them on hand in case a shipping problem comes up. You want to make sure you have your bookstore cover just in case there is an issue with your first choice supplier.
