Free Baby Shower Decoration Ideas

Baby showers can be very expensive, but there are many free or inexpensive decoration ideas.  If you want your baby shower to be special, make your own decorations you will remember for a lifetime.  The mother-to-be will appreciate such a meaningful gesture.

Table Centerpiece

Centerpieces for a baby shower can be easily made and very inexpensive.  One idea is to make a centerpiece that looks like a white cake.  You will need cloth diapers and colored ribbon.  Roll the diaper into a cylinder.  Take each diaper and tie a ribbon around it.  Put the tied diaper side by side to form the bottom of the cake.  Tie all the diapers together with a wider different color ribbon. Make a narrower layer for the second tier.  Place on top of the cake baby rattles, baby bottles and more.  This can also be a gift for the mom-to-be.

Watermelon Baby Buggy

Watermelon is a great centerpiece for a baby shower.  You can turn the watermelon into the shape of a baby buggy.  Cut the watermelon lengthwise about two thirds of its length.  This will be the bottom of the buggy.  Then you need to make the bonnet.  Cut the melon at the two-thirds point from what will be the carriage top to the junction of the middle.  Remove the section that you have cut off.  Scoop the watermelon with a melon ball scooper or ice cream scoop.  Put round fruit like orange slices, apple slices or kiwi slices by the base to create carriage wheels.  Fill the buggy with fruit balls, fruit salad or ice cream balls.
