Front End Alignment Machine Tools
When your car needs a front end alignment, there are certain steps that can be done without the help of a professional, but other steps must be completed by a licensed mechanic. Regardless of which steps you are completing, there are certain machine tools that you need in order to get the job done.
Steering Wheel Lock
One of the most vital machine tools during this process is a steering wheel lock. This piece of equipment ensures that the wheels do not turn when the wheels are getting aligned. If the wheels end up turning, this messes up the entire alignment, which results in wasted time and money since you will need to have the process done from the beginning.
Pry Bar
Another tool that is used during the front end alignment process is a pry bar, which is important when the camber must be adjusted. When this is needed, it is a process that must be done by a licensed mechanic. If you attempt to complete this part of the process on your own, you can end up damaging the front wheels of your vehicle.
Hand-Held Tools
Some of the hand-held tools that are used during the process include a ratchet, a combination wrench and channel-lock pliers. The ratchet is used to adjust bolts and the combination wrenches are used for the same purpose, but in tight spots. The other tool is used for adjusting the wheel’s toe angles. These pliers are generally used on older models for the sleeves, since older cars have a different make-up of than newer cars.
