Guide on Golf Clothing
Golf can be played in a variety of weather conditions. From hot heat to a little rain you should dress prepared for changing temperatures. If you are ready to get out and hit the green, there are some basic clothing items you should consider wearing.
Dress Code
Before heading to the golf course, it is of vital importance to check if they have a dress code. Many are very strict about what players should be wearing. Most higher-end golf courses frown upon you wearing jeans, T-shirts and street shoes for a variety of reasons.
Weather Conditions
It is always important to take the weather forecast into consideration when getting ready for a day of golf, especially if you are playing an all-day tournament. You should dress in layers so that you can remove clothing or put pieces back on depending on the climate. Choosing clothing that is breathable and comfortable is very helpful. Bringing or wearing a visor or cap can be very useful if you are facing the sun. It is important to wear the hat the correct way to adhere to potential golf course dress policies.
Acceptable Clothing Choices
Closed toed shoes that are molded or have small bumps or spikes attached to the soles are acceptable footwear. You should ensure that they fit well and the shoes are comfortable. They should also help keep you in position on the turf. Men and women should choose pants or shorts that are professional in nature. Women can wear capris as well. If shorts and capris are chosen, they should be an acceptable length. Shirts should not contain logos and should be polo-type style. If the shirt does not contain a collar, the shirt should then have sleeves. Generally, both men and women should have their shirts tucked in and wear a belt. Hats that are worn properly are also acceptable and encouraged during sunny days. If it is cooler, a lightweight golf jacket may also be worn.
