Guide to Restoring Chrome Wheels

Chrome wheels can become dingy and lack their original luster from road debris, salt and brake dust. Chrome wheels can be restored if they have not rusted. Taking a few preventative measures can keep your chrome wheels looking like new for a very long time.

Restoring Chrome Wheels

1. Prepare a bucket with 6 cups of automotive cleanser and 4 cups of water.

2. Using a clean sponge and your cleaning solution, remove as much grime as possible.

3. Using a soft bristle toothbrush, scrub the chrome wheel using a circular motion. Pay attention to all the hard to reach places where grime can eat away at your rim's finish.

4. Rise and dry completely after the wheel is clean.

5. Using a dab of chrome polish and a lint-free cloth, rub the polish in circular motion over the wheel rims. The chrome polish will make your rims shine like new.

6. You can spay a thin coat of automotive spray wax on your wheel rims to protect your wheels from damage.
