Guide to a Seafood Restaurant
Seafood restaurants are the perfect place for a seafood lover to eat at. Even for those that do not enjoy seafood, most have plenty of hamburgers and other American styled food to choose from. Seafood restaurants have a choice between fish, lobster, crab, and soups.
Types of Fish
Choices vary from restaurant to restaurant but most will offer gourmet salmon, although it’s for a high price. Sushi is served as an appetizer and comes in plentiful portions. The most popular fish fillets consist of cod, catfish, halibut, or trout.
Types of Shellfish
Plenty of restaurants such as McGrath’s Fish House serve prawns and scallops on skewers. Crab cakes are regularly served with lemon, smoked paprika oil, and herbs to give it a boost of flavor. The same can be said for crab legs, which can be served in large portions. Fresh lobster is a popular choice of meal and is offered with a side of dipping butter sauce.
Types of Non-Seafood Courses
Most seafood places will recognize that some members of the family don’t like seafood and for that reason they will serve burgers and pasta. Tomato risotto with cheese and sticky rice with papaya salsa are served at such places like the west coast restaurant, Salty’s.
Chicken caeser wraps, turkey sandwiches, and cheeseburgers can be ordered at lunchtime. Steak, baby back ribs and sirloins are also available on all seafood menus. Sesame and Maui style chicken are popular due to their coastline origins. A mix of steak and crab cakes is also offered for people who like a bit of both worlds.
