Top Things to Know About a Towing Service

How Much to Tip a Towing Service?

Towing services were created to help move a vehicle that is immobile. Drivers call towing services to haul vehicles to the next garage;  so the vehicle can be fixed. You may tip the towing service if the company allows its drivers to receive a gratuity payment.

Laws

Each state has laws that allow or deny tipping to certain individuals. Most of these laws are based on events that have happened in the past and are put into effect to protect drivers. Make sure to look for signs that show whether the towing company is allowed to accept tips.

Gratuity

Gratuity is always a way of saying thanks and you did a good job. Americans tip waitresses, taxi drivers and even luggage carriers; towing services are no different. The amount you are changed for the towing services should be then broken down into percentages. For example: If your bill was $300 dollars, then a proper tip would be 10 to 15 percent of that total. However, your tip can also be based off of the services they provided to you. Keep in mind that you may have a towing service such as Triple AAA, that helps soak up the costs, but you should still tip the towing service.

Customer Service

As a customer, you should pay close attention to how the towing service treats you. Take a mental note as you see how polite and quick they are with their services. They may be a busy towing company, but you will soon see how important customer service is to them. There is no right or wrong in how much you tip a towing service; but tip appropriately according to the level of service they provided to you.
